How to read this chart
  • Each dot is one monthly Visa Bulletin; its height is the cutoff (priority) date that bulletin printed for this category and chargeability area.
  • The green diagonal is the Current line: cutoff equal to the bulletin month, no backlog. The vertical distance below it is how far behind the category is; the faint ladder rungs draw that distance at regular intervals, so a lengthening rung means a growing wait. A series running along the line is Current (no cutoff).
  • Unavailable months (no visas) break the line and are marked with an ×. Months with no archived bulletin show gray in the strips above the chart.
  • Final Action Date: a visa number can be issued or the case approved. Date for Filing: the earliest an application may be filed, but only in months USCIS designates that chart for I-485 filing. Where USCIS designated the Final Action Dates chart instead, the Date for Filing is drawn and listed in grey: it was printed, but could not be used to file.
  • Before October 2015 the bulletin had a single chart; it is shown as Final Action Date.
  • Zoom: drag a box on the chart to zoom into it (a thin horizontal box zooms the months only), use the + and − buttons at the top right, or hold ⌘/Ctrl and scroll over the chart. Double-click the chart or press ⟲ to go back. The months you zoom to are in the link; a date band is not.
  • Click the page title to return to the default view (India, EB-2, both charts, since October 2015); your dates are kept.
  • A chargeability area the bulletin does not list separately for a category falls under "All chargeability areas except those listed"; those months are drawn as hollow dots and marked * in the table.
  • Hover or tap a month, or focus the chart and use the arrow keys, to read it. Click to pin it: the tiles and the highlighted table row keep showing that month after you move away, and the link in the address bar opens this exact view. Clear a pin with the ✕ Clear chip, Escape, or by clicking the month again. Drag the slider or use the presets to change the range.
